Akai releases free MPC 3.10 update with MPK Mini Plus II integration
Akai Professional has released MPC 3.10, a free update to its MPC 3 operating system that adds integration with the new MPK Mini Plus II, a compact MIDI controller. According to Gearnews, MPC owners who plan to pair the controller with an MPC Standalone unit or MPC DAW will need the update, which also brings support for the MPK Mini IV.
The numbering follows 3.9, so it reads as three-point-ten. Beyond the controller support, Arranger Mode gets new Marquee, Track and Arrangement selection modes along with general workflow improvements. On the MPC Live III and MPC XL, the MPCe Pads can now use 8x8 Notes and Clip Launch modes.
Force users get 16 Levels Scale support, Arp Latch feedback and improved Pad Mode configuration shortcuts. On the software side, the desktop version of MPC 3 leaves beta, and a new activation option brings the MPC 3 workflow to MPC Beats users. The update is a free download from the MPC website.
The previous version, MPC 3.9, released in June 2026, added wavetable, FM and virtual analog oscillators that let Drum and Keygroup tracks generate sound instead of using samples. In February 2026, MPC 3.7 had enhanced MPCe Pad control and upgraded the step sequencer tools, Gearnews reported.
