André Rieu to play Sofia's Arena 8888 on 10 March 2027

Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu will return to Sofia on 10 March 2027 for a concert at Arena 8888, according to the Bulgarian outlet Actualno.

Tickets are on sale through more.com. Actualno says the show mixes opera, musicals, film music, well-known classical pieces, traditional melodies and the waltzes that made him famous. Rieu performs with the 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, whose first violinist is Bulgarian musician Kremena Mineva. The outlet also reports that he has sold out all his Bulgarian concerts for eight years running, with more than 160,000 spectators in total.

Rieu was born in Maastricht in 1949 and founded the orchestra in 1987. His newest studio album, “The Sound of Heaven”, came out on 6 December 2024. According to setlist.fm, his last concert in Romania took place on 12 November 2025 at BTarena in Cluj-Napoca.
