Britney Spears releases unreleased 2001 track “She'll Never Be Me”
Britney Spears has released “She'll Never Be Me”, a song recorded in 2001 for her album “Britney” and left unreleased until now. The release marks the album's 25th anniversary, and the song is the first of five archive recordings that will be part of a special anniversary edition, according to People, as cited by Actualno.
In the lyrics, the 44-year-old singer addresses an ex-partner who has found a replacement. As the title and the text suggest, the new woman will never be a perfect copy of her, and in the chorus Spears stresses her own uniqueness.
Several people worked on the track, including Justin Timberlake, whom she dated in the early 2000s. Bradley Daymond and Alex Gregs also collaborated on it, and it was produced by Riprock and Alex G.
The expanded track list also includes “Am I a Sinner”, “When I Say So” and “My Big Secret”, along with a studio version of “Right Now (Taste The Victory)”, which was previously used in a 2002 Pepsi commercial. The anniversary edition is due on 6 November, according to BGNES.
Britney Spears is an American singer, songwriter, actress and model born in 1981 in McComb, working in pop, dance-pop and electropop. Her newest studio album on MusicBrainz is “Glory”, released in August 2016.
