Delain drop the fixed singer concept and release new single “We Are Fire”

Dutch symphonic metal band Delain will not replace departed singer Diana Leah with a permanent frontwoman and will instead work with rotating guest vocalists, according to metal.de. The core of the band remains founder and keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, together with Ludovico Cioffi, Ronald Landa and Sander Zoer.

The first result of the new approach is the single “We Are Fire”, released with an official music video. The vocals are shared by Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie), Noa Gruman (Sabaton's Legendary Orchestra) and Paolo Ribaldini. Westerholt said the song is about the inner fire that drives people even when the road ahead is uncertain, and that it captures what Delain is growing into: a place where different voices and personalities come together, each bringing something of their own.

For upcoming releases and shows, the band has also named Marko Hietala, Sharon den Adel and Ruud Jolie (both of Within Temptation), Anneke van Giersbergen, Patty Gurdy and Johanna Kurkela (Auri, Eye of Melian). Which guests will appear on which songs has not yet been decided.

The concept will also be taken on the road: in February 2027 Delain tour with Marko Hietala, Fabienne Erni, Noa Gruman and Paolo Ribaldini, with Infected Rain as special guest and Persefone as support.

Delain were formed in the Netherlands in 2002.
