British duo Orbital have announced their new album “Other” and shared “Mother, Maiden & Crone”, featuring Maxine Peake, according to We Rave You. The track draws on witchcraft and folklore, setting gothic synth lines against séance-like vocals from Peake.
The album deals with otherness: neurodiversity, identity, outsiders and the freedom to live beyond the categories society prescribes. Musically it moves through gothic folk, drum & bass, punk and ambient alongside the duo’s familiar electronic sound. In October mbuzz reported, citing Clash, that “Other” is out on 19 March 2027.
The Other Tour opens on 8 April 2027 at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, runs through Ireland and the UK and closes that leg on 24 April at British Airways ARC in London. It then visits Amsterdam (Gashouder, 29 April), Paris (Le Bataclan, 30 April), Brussels (Ancienne Belgique, 1 May), Berlin (Festsaal Kreuzberg, 3 May) and Copenhagen (Store Vega, 4 May). A ticket pre-sale opens at 10am on 21 October, with general sale at 10am on 23 October. Pre-sale buyers can also order, until 22 October, a 2LP + 1CD Tour Edition whose alternative cover has its “Other” box hand-ticked by Paul or Phil Hartnoll.
Orbital formed in 1989 in Sevenoaks and work in techno and electronica. Their previous album, 2023’s “Optical Delusion”, reached No. 6 on the UK Official Albums Chart, their first UK Top 10 album since 1999’s “Middle Of Nowhere”, and topped the Official Dance Albums Chart.
