Rod Stewart has announced “The Final Encore”, the tour with which he will bid farewell to life on the road, running through the UK and Europe in 2027. According to OndaRock, it opens on 23 April 2027 at Dublin’s 3Arena, takes in cities including London, Amsterdam and Berlin, and closes on 24 July at the ZAG Arena in Hanover. The only Italian stop is on 26 June at Villa Manin in Codroipo, with tickets on sale through TicketOne from 15 October. The dates closest to Romania, from the tour’s previously announced schedule: Budapest on 18 June (Sportarena), Pula on 22 June (Pula Arena), Prague on 24 June (O2 Arena) and Kraków on 20 July (Tauron Arena).
In a message to his audience, the 81-year-old singer says the time has come to stop touring and that “The Final Encore” will undoubtedly be his last. He thanks his fans for a career of more than six decades and promises to repay them the way he knows best, with music. The announcement follows several concerts Stewart cancelled in August on health grounds, according to OndaRock.
Born in London in 1945, Rod Stewart came up through the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces before his solo career, with songs such as “Maggie May”, “Sailing” and “Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?”. He has sold more than 250 million records and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a solo artist and with the Faces. His newest studio album listed on MusicBrainz is “Alternate Atlantic Crossing”, from 2026. In September mbuzz reported that he had announced his final tour for 2027, with European dates and several shows in the United States. His last concert in Romania was on 23 September 2018 in Piața Constituției, Bucharest.
