Ukrainian band Stoned Jesus release their album “Songs to Moon” on 16 October 2026 through Season of Mist. A day earlier, The Needle Drop premiered all seven tracks in full. The record is the second part of a trilogy that began with “Songs to Sun”.
According to frontman Igor Sydorenko, the new album is still heavy and catchy but follows a path similar to “Led Zeppelin III”, Opeth’s “Damnation” or Alice In Chains’ “Jar of Flies”. He calls it bolder, more haunting and more introspective than anything the band has done before.
The album opens with “Under the Skin”, a post-metal track, followed by lead single “Velvet”. “Jackal” is billed as a mini prog opera, while “Syzygy”, sitting at the midpoint of the trilogy, is the band’s first instrumental and weaves together one melody from each album in the series. The closing stretch, “Window in My Room” and “One More Empty Day”, strips down to acoustic guitar and Sydorenko’s quiet vocals. “ZYX” completes the tracklist. The record is out on CD and on vinyl in several colours.
Stoned Jesus are a stoner metal band from Ukraine who have spent 15 years moving through doom metal, psychedelia, grunge and art rock. “Songs to Sun”, released in September 2025, opened the trilogy. The band will play the new songs at European festivals this autumn, including WeStill Fest in Vallet, France, on 30 October.
