U2 plotting first stadium tour since 2019

U2 are preparing a stadium tour, their first since “The Joshua Tree Tour” in 2019, according to Consequence, citing a new Rolling Stone cover story. The band recently began rehearsals, and the trek has not yet been announced, with no dates or cities made public.

Larry Mullen Jr., who missed U2's Las Vegas Sphere residency after surgery for a congenital fusion in a facet joint in his neck, intends to rejoin the band. Rolling Stone quotes the drummer as saying that even an hour of playing would be enough if he cannot manage two and a half hours.

Plans are still being finalized, and the band is weighing how much new material to add to the setlist. Bono has reportedly floated playing smaller venues around the stadium dates, with sets featuring more new music.
