Anthrax and Kerry King join Megadeth's farewell tour

Anthrax and the solo band of Slayer guitarist Kerry King will join Megadeth on the next leg of the band's farewell tour, Dave Mustaine announced on SiriusXM's “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, according to Visions. That puts two of thrash metal's Big Four on the road together, along with King. Mustaine said the band decided to bring “a lot of our friends”.

Anthrax and King are not expected on the European leg: according to Blabbermouth, Mustaine confirmed only the support acts already announced there, Black Label Society and Testament. The European run starts on 9 March 2027 and includes Düsseldorf (25 March, Mitsubishi Electric Halle), Hamburg (30 March, Sporthalle), Berlin (1 April, Velodrom), Munich (4 April, Zenith) and Bern (5 April, Festhalle). Lisbon on 13 April 2027 is the last date announced so far. The date closest to Romania: Kraków on 2 April 2027 (Tauron Arena), according to the band's official site. Mustaine said shows in India and South Africa are also being discussed.

In August 2025 Megadeth announced they would split after releasing their 17th album, “Megadeth”. The farewell tour began in spring 2026 and will run at least until mid-2027; Mustaine says it could even last several years. In September 2026 he published his autobiography, “In My Darkest Hour”, in which he writes about health problems affecting his voice and hands.

Megadeth formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and are one of the defining American thrash metal bands. “Megadeth” came out on 23 January 2026, and the band last played Romania on 12 June 2024 at Romexpo in Bucharest. In September mbuzz reported that Anthrax released “Cursum Perficio”, their first studio album in ten years.
