Aventura and Don Omar’s “Ella y Yo” passes one billion YouTube views

The official video for “Ella y Yo,” the 2005 collaboration between Aventura and Don Omar, has reached one billion views on YouTube, according to Billboard. The clip was uploaded in 2019 and directed by Ulysses Terrero in the style of a telenovela.

The song blends reggaeton and bachata and tells of a troubled love affair. It peaked at No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs and No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it topped the Latin Rhythm Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts. It earned a nomination at the 2006 Latin Billboard Music Awards.

“Ella y Yo” appears on Aventura’s album “God’s Project” (2004) and on the compilation “Da Hitman Presents Reggaetón Latino” (2005). Billboard notes it is Aventura’s first video to hit the billion mark and the third for Don Omar.
