Eloy Casagrande promises “real music” on the new Slipknot album
Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande discussed the band’s upcoming album in an interview with Colombian YouTube channel Radiónica, uploaded on 16 October 2026. According to Loudwire, he said the band is working on “many, many songs” and is happy with the music made so far, while declining to explain exactly what is happening in the studio.
Speaking to host Camilo Guzmán, Casagrande said Slipknot are “making real music” and are not thinking about business or whether people will like it. It is his first record with the band, and he admitted that before joining he worried whether he could still play his own way.
He said he cannot leave his Brazilian background behind, even when playing death metal. At his first rehearsal, percussionist Clown reminded him that Slipknot is a metal band, but during the recording sessions Clown suggested adding Brazilian rhythms. The interview follows “Arsenal,” Slipknot’s first song with Casagrande on drums, released in September. Also in September, guitarist Jim Root hinted at the album in replies to fans on social media.
Slipknot formed in 1994 in Des Moines, in the United States, and are associated with nu metal, groove metal and alternative metal. Their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “The End, So Far” from September 2022. On 28 September, mbuzz reported that the band had announced the “(sic)est Stadium Tour” for summer 2027, with 11 different openers including Marilyn Manson, Hatebreed, Bring Me the Horizon and Lamb of God.
