Enter Shikari surprise-release new single “Higher Ground”

Enter Shikari have released the new single “Higher Ground” on 7 October 2026, just days after announcing an upcoming hiatus. According to NME, it is the band’s first new music since their surprise-released album “Lose Your Self” earlier this year.

The song was written around the same time as the album tracks, set aside, and finished by the band over the summer. Its lyrics deal with stepping back from personal problems and choosing understanding and optimism. Singer Rou Reynolds said taking the broad view brings perspective and clarity.

The band recently confirmed an indefinite hiatus from the end of 2027. Before that come small warm-up shows in October and an arena tour of the UK and Europe in November. In 2027 they will mark 20 years of “Take To The Skies”, 10 years of “The Spark” and 15 years of “A Flash Flood Of Colour”.
