Oasis doc filmmakers explain why Noel and Liam Gallagher’s reconciliation isn’t shown

The filmmakers behind “Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger” have explained why the documentary does not show how Noel and Liam Gallagher made up before the 2025 reunion shows. The film reached cinemas last month and arrives on Disney+ on October 9, with previously unseen footage including extra performance clips and interviews with both brothers.

According to NME, director Dylan Southern said at an October 5 event at London’s Abbey Road Studios that the brothers never held a heart-to-heart over old grievances. They walked into a room together, the crew filmed it, and Oasis were back. He added that Noel and Liam do not appear together in interviews until late in the film, a creative choice made from the start.

Writer and creator Steven Knight, who also created “Peaky Blinders”, said the film’s message is that the songs prompt the same reaction everywhere in the world. Director Will Lovelace said the run of concerts turned out more emotional than even the band expected.
