Fender and Joe Bonamassa unveil the Tone Master ’59 Twin-Amp JB Edition
Fender unveiled the Tone Master ’59 Twin-Amp JB Edition on 8 October 2026, the first signature amplifier in its Tone Master series, developed with blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. The model is based on the late-’50s high-powered tweed Twin amps that are a mainstay of Bonamassa’s touring and studio rig.
The 2x12 combo uses Fender’s Tone Master digital modeling to recreate the 5F8-A tweed Twin circuit, voiced after Bonamassa’s own amps. It reaches 85W for the stage, while a rear-panel output selector offers full power plus five attenuated settings for low volumes. Custom lightweight Celestion JB Neodymium speakers are fitted. Other features include convolution spring reverb, an effects loop, a Vintage-Tight switch for low-end response and a balanced XLR line out with three onboard cabinet impulse responses; more IRs can be loaded through the Tone Master IR Manager app. According to Gearnews, the amp also has USB-C for firmware updates and is built in China.
Fender lists a street price of $1,999.99, £1,789 or €2,099. Bonamassa said he “wanted to hate it”, but found the amp tighter and punchier than the original. Max Gutnik, Chief Product Officer of Fender Electronics & Digital, called it “a real inflection point for our industry”.
Bonamassa began his career at 12 opening for B.B. King, has released 17 LPs and holds the world record for the most No. 1 blues albums. Also in October, Fender announced the next generation of its American Professional series of electric guitars and basses.
