Gearnews picks five value tube guitar amps, from Harley Benton to Fender

Gearnews published a guide to five value tube guitar amps for 2027 on 19 October 2026, sorted by price: the Harley Benton TUBE15, Marshall DSL20HR, Orange Dual Terror, Revv D20 MK2 and Fender 65 Twin Reverb, the last being the most expensive on the list.

The Harley Benton TUBE15 is a head with three 12AX7s in the preamp and two EL84s in the power amp, an FX loop and controls for Gain, Volume, Tone, Bass, Middle, Treble and Reverb. It has TUBE5 and TUBE30 siblings and is listed at $205 / £185 / €219. The Marshall DSL20HR, part of the Super Lead series, is a 20-watt head with three ECC83s and a pair of EL34s, two channels (Classic Gain and Ultra Gain), an FX loop and an Emulated Line Out on a mini-jack, priced at $411 / £377 / €439.

The Orange Dual Terror is a compact two-channel lunchbox head rated at 30, 15 or 7 watts, listed at $648 / £589 / €689. For the Revv D20 MK2, Gearnews points to a 4-watt mode for lower volumes.

The outlet also lists what to weigh up: output power (a 20-watt amp can be too loud at home), an FX loop for delay and reverb pedals, line or XLR outputs for recording without a mic, and weight, at a time when modeling gear and NAM are gaining ground.
