Fontaines D.C. share new single “Tongue” from “Dopamine Chamber”
Fontaines D.C. have released “Tongue,” the second single from their fifth album, “Dopamine Chamber,” due on October 16 via XL Recordings. The video was directed by John Angus Stewart and filmed in New York City. It follows lead single “Marianne,” released in August.
According to NME, guitarist Carlos O’Connell ran Grian Chatten’s vocal through a sampler to distort its pitch, while bassist Conor Deegan altered tape speed to shape the bassline. Guitarist Conor Curley said the band continued where “Romance” left off, holding back live-band elements until “they were really needed.”
Produced by James Ford, the album follows 2024’s “Romance” and features Rosalía on “Where Is Gone?”, the band’s first guest feature on a studio album. Fontaines D.C. play Slane Castle and Manchester’s Heaton Park next summer, after a UK and European arena tour this autumn.
