Ibanez presents its GIO RG range of guitars and basses for beginners

Ibanez is presenting its GIO RG series, a range of electric guitars and basses aimed at beginner players, according to Guitar World. The guitars start at £229 and the basses at £209.

The GIO RG guitars use the metal-oriented RG body shape, designed for easy access to the upper frets, and come with maple necks. Pickup options include dual humbuckers and HSH layouts, and the range covers both hardtail models, for players who put tuning stability first, and tremolo-equipped models for those who want a whammy bar.

Some models feature Ibanez's Sharktooth inlays. Top woods include flamed and quilted maple as well as Poplar Burl, while standard tops come in finishes such as Deep Dusk Burst Flat, Walnut Flat and Aqua Burst. The bass range follows the same approach, and Guitar World reports that every GIO RG instrument goes through a quality-control check before shipping.
