Jackson launches Legend Series signature models for Randy Rhoads, Scott Ian and more

Jackson has unveiled the Legend Series, a limited-edition run of four signature instruments recreating guitars originally built for Randy Rhoads, Scott Ian, David Ellefson and Marty Friedman, Premier Guitar reported on 14 October 2026.

The Randy Rhoads CD1 recreates the white and gold Concorde V that Rhoads built with Grover Jackson in 1980, according to Guitar.com. It has an alder body, an ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and a 12"-16" compound radius, Seymour Duncan JB/'59 humbuckers and a vintage-accurate six-saddle tremolo, at a street price of $2,499.99. Rhoads' sister, Kathy Rhoads D'Argenzio, said her brother "would be so honored" by the tribute.

The Scott Ian Rhoads RR22 recreates the single-pickup "Not" Rhoads Ian used on the first five Anthrax albums, with its "Not" body graphics, neck-through construction and a top-mount Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo, at $2,199.99. Ian said he "discovered my tone with it."

Two models revisit Megadeth's “Rust In Peace” era, both finished in black, according to MusicRadar. The Marty Friedman Kelly KE-1 pairs an alder body and three-piece maple neck-through construction with a Seymour Duncan JB pickup and a Kahler 7330 fixed bridge, at an MSRP of $2,299.99. The five-string David Ellefson CB V Concert Bass has an alder body, a quartersawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement, EMG 40DC and CS pickups with three-band EQ, a Jackson HiMass bridge and Hipshot tuners, at $2,499.99. Ellefson recalled his original 1987 Concert bass.

Jackson has been building instruments for more than 45 years. Jon Romanowski, the company's VP of product, said the four players "helped define what Jackson became."
