JAY-Z reportedly set to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show

JAY-Z has reportedly picked himself to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, according to a report by Puck News cited by Consequence. Before settling on the choice, the rapper is said to have also considered Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

Since 2019, JAY-Z has been in charge of the Big Game's musical programming, bringing The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny to the halftime stage. The performance would be his first appearance as a halftime act.

According to Consequence, it would follow his run of stadium shows throughout 2026 marking the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt” and the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint”. Neither the NFL nor JAY-Z has officially commented on the report. The rapper is scheduled to play two shows at SoFi Stadium, the venue of Super Bowl LXI, and the outlet suggests an announcement could come there.

JAY-Z is an American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur, born in Brooklyn in 1969 and rooted in East Coast hip-hop. His newest studio album is “4:44”, released in 2017, according to MusicBrainz.
