Miley debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with “Bass Persuades”
Miley, formerly billed as Miley Cyrus, has topped the Billboard 200 with her new album “Bass Persuades” on the chart dated Oct. 3. According to Billboard, it moved 62,000 units in its first week, while Rolling Stone, citing Luminate, reports 61,000. It is her first No. 1 since “Bangerz” in October 2013.
The album came out on Sept. 18, preceded by the title track on Sept. 3. According to Rolling Stone, 47,000 units came from album sales and 14,000 from streaming, with sales helped by multiple vinyl, CD and cassette variants. The title track debuted at No. 35 on the Hot 100, and “Let’s Get Married” sits at No. 99.
Billboard counts it as her sixth chart-topper and 16th top 10 album, including her Hannah Montana releases. It follows “Something Beautiful”, which peaked at No. 4.
