Peter Gabriel sets 27 November release for new album “o\i”

Peter Gabriel has announced that his new album, “o\i”, will be released on 27 November on his own Real World label. According to Stereogum, the record has 13 tracks, ten of which have already come out, one for each full moon this year. Every song has two stereo mixes: a Bright-Side mix by Mark “Spike” Stent and a Dark-Side mix by Tchad Blake.

Gabriel wrote and produced the album, which was recorded mainly at Real World Studios and his home studio. Contributors include guitarist David Rhodes, bassist Tony Levin, drummer Manu Katché and Brian Eno, along with the New Blood Orchestra and the Soweto Gospel Choir. Photographer Nadav Kander made the cover, and visual artists including Judy Chicago and Shirin Neshat contributed artwork to accompany the music.

Gabriel says the songs reflect his thinking about the future and a period of transition driven by AI, quantum computing and brain-computer interfaces.
