Peter Gabriel shares new single “Face the Wall” from upcoming album o\i

Peter Gabriel has released “Face the Wall,” the latest single from his upcoming album o\i. According to Stereogum, he is putting out one song on every full moon; last month’s was “Looking For The Happy.”

Rolling Stone reports that the track was produced by Tchad Blake and is presented in its “Dark-Side Mix.” Like the other songs from o/i and its 2023 predecessor i/o, it was recorded with both a “Bright-Side Mix” and a “Dark-Side Mix.” Gabriel says the lyric is partly about getting older, facing illness and looking death in the face.

The cover art is “The Nest. Amos Rex” by Tadashi Kawamata, photographed by Mika Huisman. Gabriel says the wall in the image is like death, while the chairs spilling over it suggest hope.
