Selena Gomez says vaping nicotine changed her voice
Selena Gomez spoke candidly about how vaping nicotine has affected her voice in an Instagram Story posted on 18 October. According to Billboard, the 34-year-old singer said she vaped nicotine a lot, that she will not be able to change her voice, and that nicotine is very hard to quit.
She told anyone going through the same thing, or thinking of trying it, that it is "just not worth it," calling the habit "so stupid." Listeners who dislike how she sounds now, she said, can simply not listen. Gomez added that she has stopped vaping and hopes she can keep it up, offering encouragement to people struggling with something of their own.
Last December, asked by a fan during an Instagram Live about her husky voice, Gomez said only that her throat sometimes swells inside, without going into detail. Billboard notes that she has also spoken publicly over the years about bipolar disorder and the autoimmune condition lupus.
Selena Gomez is an American singer and actress, born in 1992 in Grand Prairie, known for pop and dance-pop.
