Taylor Swift spends a third week at UK No. 1 with “Patient Zero”

Taylor Swift holds the top spot on the UK’s Official Singles Chart for a third consecutive week with “Patient Zero”, on the chart dated 17 October, according to Billboard.

The song is part of the Encore deluxe edition of “The Life of a Showgirl”, which also added the new tracks “Cleveland!”, “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon”. Its music video premiered on 27 September at the 2026 MTV VMAs, where Swift also received the first-ever artist director prize. “Patient Zero” is her third UK No. 1 of 2026, after “Opalite” and the Toy Story 5 song “I Knew It, I Knew You”. On 17 October she made a surprise appearance at the Academy Museum Gala and performed “The Fate of Ophelia” live for the first time.

Cardiff-born Jamie Miller climbs to No. 2 with “Babydoll”, a new peak for his breakout single. Ashe rises to No. 3 with “Stop The Wedding!”, Sienna Spiro slips two places to No. 4 with “Great Expectation”, and Adéla moves up three to No. 5 with “Nicole Kidman”. Thirteen years after its release, P!nk’s “Just Give Me a Reason” returns to the top 40 at No. 15 on a streaming spike driven by social media, while Noah Kahan’s “Willing and Able” rises to No. 17 and Season 25 gets his first top 40 entry with “Shotta’s” at No. 38.

Taylor Swift is an American singer-songwriter born in 1989 in West Reading. In early October mbuzz reported that she topped both the UK singles and albums charts, and on 11 October that she had reached 100 career weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, joining The Beatles.
