Tame Impala cover Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” for Like A Version

Tame Impala covered Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” for Triple J’s Like A Version series, Stereogum reported on 30 October 2026. The song, a standout from the “Batman Forever” soundtrack, gets a reading whose vocal harmonies, according to Stereogum, recall the Beach Boys.

Kevin Parker called the track, a childhood favourite, “quite proggy” because of its unexpected rhythm changes. He said the choice was not easy: several band members had the idea at the same moment but thought it would be too hard to pull off. Only once they accepted that none of them could sound like Seal did they settle on simply doing their best. Seal’s Instagram account responded with hand-clapping emojis on the band’s post. In the same session, Tame Impala also performed “Dracula”.

Tame Impala is a psychedelic rock project formed in Perth, Australia, in 2007. The newest studio album, “Deadbeat”, came out on 17 October 2025, according to MusicBrainz. In October mbuzz reported that Kevin Parker features, alongside SZA, on a single by French duo Justice, who are scoring “Grand Theft Auto VI”.
