Tate McRae releases “Housewife”, lead single from her fourth album

Tate McRae released “Housewife” on 15 October, the lead single from her upcoming fourth album, together with a music video shot in the south of France. According to Rolling Stone, the clip shows the singer strutting and dancing through her mansion, across a yacht and other lavish settings, at one point pushing a baby carriage filled with cash.

McRae previewed the song earlier in October on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, describing it as being about “a woman who can't be contained.” She also joked that her fans miss the hints she drops before releases, even the most obvious one: the word “Housewife” appeared on stage at the start of her Lollapalooza set in Chicago in August.

According to Billboard, during that headlining set McRae also played a clip of a ticking clock set to an unreleased snippet. She closed with her hit “Sports Car”, then submerged herself in a huge tub of liquid gold, one of the most viral moments of the festival weekend.

Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter and dancer, born in 2003 in Calgary, working across pop and dance-pop. The new single follows her 2025 album “So Close To What”, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, her first album to top that chart.
