Tate McRae’s “Housewife” wins Billboard’s weekly new music poll
Tate McRae’s new single “Housewife” topped Billboard’s weekly new music poll, taking 51% of the vote. The poll was published on Friday, 16 October, and closed on Sunday.
The track finished ahead of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Expectations” remix with Chappell Roan, which drew nearly 35%, followed by Ashe’s album “The Girl of Your Dreams” and U2’s new song “The Greatest Show on Earth”. New music from Zach Bryan was also among the options.
According to Billboard, the song is about providing for herself the life she wants, and McRae has previously described it as being about “a woman who can’t be contained.” She shared a batch of behind-the-scenes photos from the music video shoot on Instagram. The song is expected to appear on her upcoming fourth studio album, and she was scheduled to perform it at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on 18 October.
Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter and dancer, born in 2003 in Calgary, working in pop and dance-pop. In October mbuzz reported that “Housewife” arrived as the lead single from the new album, alongside a music video shot in the south of France.
