Texas mark 30 years of “White On Blonde” with a 2027 arena tour

Scottish band Texas will play an anniversary arena tour of the UK and Ireland in October 2027, celebrating 30 years of their album “White On Blonde”. The 11-date run opens on 15 October at the P&J Arena in Aberdeen and takes in Newcastle, Belfast, Dublin (3Arena), Glasgow (OVO Hydro), Leeds, Cardiff, Brighton, London (The O2), Manchester (Co-op Live) and Birmingham, where it closes on 30 October. Fellow Scots Del Amitri will open.

Pre-sale starts on 28 October 2026 at 10am local time, with general sale following on 30 October at the same hour. A special anniversary edition of the album is due on 5 February and includes the new single “Another Way To Cry”, which channels the energy of a Northern Soul all-nighter. Actor Robert Carlyle stars in its video, shot in the Scottish Highlands.

According to Clash, “White On Blonde” was written and recorded while the band were ignored by their label and working from home studios. Sharleen Spiteri recalls that they “made the album in my house” in Glasgow, recording her vocals in a coat cupboard. Of the new song, she says it could sit in a setlist next to the big hits and hold its ground.

Texas formed in Glasgow in 1986 and play alternative rock and pop rock. Their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “Hi”, released in May 2021. The band last played Romania on 5 July 2013, at B'estfest in Tunari.
