Warhaus, the project of Balthazar frontman Maarten Devoldere, has released “One Day”, a preview of the new album “The Donkey”. The record is out on 15 January 2027 via Play It Again Sam (PIAS), according to Mondo Sonoro.

The new single is built on heavy percussion and synthesizers, with a falsetto vocal set against a love theme handled in an unusual tone for a love song. Devoldere said he wanted the band to sound like a DJ and the love song to sound “like a threat”.

According to the Spanish outlet, the album marks a change from Devoldere's earlier work, leaving behind the pop atmosphere of his melodies in search of a new sound. He will present it in Spain with two shows in 2027, on 20 April at Razzmatazz 2 in Barcelona and on 21 April at Sala But in Madrid, before the European tour moves on to Lisbon and Porto.

Maarten Devoldere is a Belgian musician born in 1988 who leads both Balthazar and Warhaus.
