Noel Gallagher says the Oasis reunion taught him to compromise with Liam

Noel Gallagher discussed the Oasis reunion and his relationship with his brother Liam on the new season of Amelia Dimoldenberg’s “Chicken Shop Date”, according to OndaRock, citing NME.

Asked how long one should wait before reviving a project that has ended, the guitarist joked: “Sixteen years”, a nod to the band’s long split before the 2025 comeback. He said that after roughly a week of rehearsals it was clear Oasis were at least as good as before, perhaps better. On working with Liam, he admitted he had to be ready to compromise, something he is usually not good at, though he believes people improve with age.

Gallagher also said he has “tons of unreleased material”, without saying whether it is meant for the band. Speaking about “Champagne Supernova”, he confessed he still has no idea what some of its lines mean and suspects a drug reference. He added that Paul McCartney calls him “Nolo”, and recalled that two days after playing to 90,000 people in São Paulo he was at home arguing over the last cereal in the box.

The interview comes ahead of the “Live ’27” tour, which includes eleven shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, six at Knebworth and European dates. Liam recently said he cannot picture another tour without new music.

Oasis are a British rock band formed in Manchester in 1991, one of the leading names of Britpop. In September mbuzz reported that the documentary “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger” would stream on Disney+ and Hulu from 9 October.
