Beck releases ‘Ride Lonesome’, his first album in seven years

Beck has released ‘Ride Lonesome’, his 15th studio album and the first since 2019’s ‘Hyperspace’. The record is out via Capitol Records, produced by Beck and mixed by Nigel Godrich, according to DIY.

Consequence reports that the 12-track album features Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner, musicians who played on ‘Sea Change’, ‘Morning Phase’ and ‘Mutations’. Beck says the sessions also felt like finding “new sounds and emotional textures”.

A video for the second track, ‘Run Away’, arrives with the album. It was directed by Mikai Karl and stars actor Tadanobu Asano. The ‘Ride Lonesome’ tour opens on 22 September at the Santa Barbara Bowl, with dates at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, Red Rocks, San Francisco’s Masonic, Toronto’s Massey Hall and Brooklyn Paramount, and ends in Portland on 10 November.
