CHVRCHES release “Overthinker”, second single from “All The King’s Men”

Scottish band CHVRCHES have released “Overthinker”, the second single from their album “All The King’s Men”, which is due on 22 January via Futures. According to DIY, the song is a ballad about the often-overlooked difficulties of complicated family dynamics, set to synth-heavy music that moves between anxious lows and soaring highs.

“Overthinker” follows “Roses”, the comeback single the band released in September. The 11-track album is the trio’s first full-length record in almost six years, following 2021’s “Screen Violence”. DIY writes that the record draws on the history of British and Scottish culture to take CHVRCHES somewhere new.

The tracklist: “Roses”, “Evil”, “Adore You”, “Overthinker”, “Royal Blue”, “Comedown Tomorrow”, “Friend Of A Friend”, “Three Out Of Five”, “Conman”, “Jamie’s Prayer” and “Faith In Flying”.

CHVRCHES formed in Glasgow in 2011 and play synth-pop with indietronica leanings. During the break between albums, singer Lauren Mayberry launched a solo career. In September mbuzz reported that “Roses” was the band’s first new song in three years, and in October that they had announced the album alongside a 2027 tour.
