Drake sets record for most No. 1 albums on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart with HABIBTI

Drake now holds the record for the most No. 1 albums on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart outright. According to Billboard, “HABIBTI” climbs to the top of the list dated 17 October 2026, giving him his 18th leader and breaking a tie with Future and The Temptations, who have 17 each - the highest totals since the chart launched in January 1965.

The jump follows the deluxe edition “HABIBTI (FOMO)”, released on 2 October, which added four new songs to the original 11-track list: “Solar Eclipse” (with Don Toliver), “Quebec”, “Cold Shoulder” (with Don Toliver and Yebba) and “Classic Pt 2”. The album rose 35-1 with 71,000 equivalent album units in the US in the tracking week of 2-8 October, according to Luminate, up 506% on the previous week. When it came out on 15 May it debuted at No. 2 behind Drake's own “ICEMAN”, which it now replaces at the top.

“Solar Eclipse” enters the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 1, extending Drake's record to 33 leaders there and giving Don Toliver his first, after a previous best of No. 3. The song also starts atop Hot R&B Songs, while “Quebec” debuts at No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs, Drake's 33rd leader on that chart, another record.

Born in 1986 in Toronto, Drake is a Canadian and American rapper, singer-songwriter and actor. On 15 May he released three albums at once, “ICEMAN”, “HABIBTI” and “MAID OF HONOUR”, and in October mbuzz reported on the four songs from his FOMO short film arriving as the deluxe edition of “HABIBTI”.
