Don Toliver makes the 2027 Grammy best new artist entry list of 331 acts

Don Toliver is among the 331 artists on the entry list for a best new artist nomination at the 2027 Grammy Awards, according to Billboard. The rapper has had five consecutive top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 since March 2020 and earned his first No. 1 this year with “Octane.” Megan Moroney, who won new artist of the year at the CMA Awards in November 2024, did not make the list.

The Recording Academy raised the number of times an artist can be entered in the category from three to four, keeping Ella Langley, Ken Carson and Geese eligible. Sam Fender qualifies thanks to “Rein Me In,” his collaboration with Olivia Dean, and VMA winner Sienna Spiro is also listed; Billboard sees her and Langley as front-runners. Dominic Fike was ruled out over a previous nomination, while ADÉLA was not submitted, her team likely waiting for 2028, when her debut album “PRIMA” will be eligible.

The total is down slightly from 337 entries last year. First-round voting opened on October 12 and runs until October 22, nominations will be announced on November 16 and final-round voting starts on December 1.

Born in Houston in 1994, Don Toliver is an American singer and rapper working across hip-hop, trap and contemporary R&B. In October mbuzz reported on the deluxe edition of “HABIBTI,” released by Drake with him.
