Laura Guldemond leaves Burning Witches after seven years
Singer Laura Guldemond is leaving Burning Witches, the Swiss all-female heavy metal band. She announced the decision on 23 October 2026 in a joint social media post with the band, according to metal.de.
All shows already announced will go ahead as planned. For the concerts at the end of the year, Jennifer Gruber of Fireborn will step in on vocals, while the search for a permanent replacement is already under way.
In her own statement, Guldemond looks back with pride on the collaboration and the albums they made together. She gives "drifting visions" as the reason for her exit and says there is no resentment: sometimes it is simply time for a change when goals no longer fully align. She plans to focus on her own music and new creative paths, wishes her former bandmates well and asks fans to respect the decision.
Guldemond joined in 2019 as the successor to Seraina Telli. With her, the band released four albums: “Dance With The Devil” (2020), “The Witch Of The North” (2021), “The Dark Tower” (2023) and “Inquisition”, out in August 2025. Metal.de places the departure alongside other recent singer exits in metal, following Floor Jansen from Nightwish and Diana Leah from Delain.
Burning Witches formed in 2015 in Brugg, Switzerland, and play heavy metal and power metal.
