Manic Street Preachers and Suede open co-headline UK tour in Glasgow

Manic Street Preachers and Suede opened their co-headline UK arena tour on 28 October 2026 at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, NME reports. The two bands swap the opening and closing slots each night, and the Manics went on first at the opener. The tour continues on 30 October at Leeds First Direct Arena, followed by Manchester, London, Birmingham and more.

The Manics began their 18-song set with “Motorcycle Emptiness”, played acoustic versions of “From Despair to Where” and “The Everlasting”, and included “Faster” and “Die in the Summertime” from “The Holy Bible”, which was reissued in October in collaboration with Steven Wilson. Posters at the merch stands showed the artwork of the band’s 1992 album “Generation Terrorists” with a QR code and the text “18/11/26 10am”, hinting at an announcement on 18 November for the record’s 35th anniversary.

Suede gave new song “My City” its live debut, alongside “Trash”, “Animal Nitrate” and several tracks from “Antidepressants”. Brett Anderson told the crowd Suede are “the anti-nostalgia band”. In October mbuzz reported that Suede are working on their eleventh album, completing the trilogy begun with “Autofiction”.

Manic Street Preachers are a Welsh rock band formed in 1986 in Blackwood. Their latest album, “Critical Thinking”, came out in 2025, and the band have told NME about new songs such as “Threshold” and “Recrudescence”. Their last concert in Romania was on 5 July 2008 at Romexpo in Bucharest.
