Metallica share a live video of “Sad But True” filmed at Sphere
Metallica released a live video of “Sad But True” on 4 November 2026, filmed on 15 October 2026 at Sphere in Las Vegas during their Life Burns Faster residency.
The tour video was directed by Gene McAuliffe and edited by Jeff Yeager, with visual effects by ILM. Jason Gossman recorded the audio, which was mixed by the team at Factory Six. The full concert audio from the show is available on CD and to stream or download. Written by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, the song first appeared in 1991 on the album “Metallica.”
Metallica are an American heavy metal and thrash metal band formed in 1981 in Los Angeles; their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “72 Seasons” (2023). In October mbuzz reported that the band debuted “Harvester of Sorrow” in the Sphere run, and in November that they brought out “Of Wolf and Man” for their Halloween show.
