Roger Waters is returning to the stage for an acoustic evening with G.E. Smith, the guitarist who played alongside him on “The Wall Live Tour”. The show takes place on 22 November at 7pm at The Suffolk in Riverhead, New York state, according to OndaRock, in an intimate setting far from the large-scale productions the former Pink Floyd member is known for.
According to the event's presentation, Waters will perform a selection of his own songs with Smith, with whom he has shared a friendship and working relationship for about twenty years. Tickets, described as available in limited numbers, cost between $200 and $350 and are sold through the theatre's website.
Smith played with Hall & Oates in the 1980s and led the Saturday Night Live band from 1985 to 1995. On “The Wall Live Tour”, which took Pink Floyd's classic album to stages around the world between 2010 and 2013, he switched between rhythm guitar, lead guitar and bass.
Roger Waters, born in 1943 in Great Bookham, England, is a co-founder of Pink Floyd. His newest studio album is “The Dark Side of the Moon Redux” from 2023, according to MusicBrainz. In September mbuzz reported that Waters and his son Harry had announced 58 North American dates in 2027 for “Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show”. His last concert in Romania was on 28 August 2013 at Piața Constituției in Bucharest.
