sE Electronics launches KLS 150 studio headphones with passive bass controls

Microphone maker sE Electronics has moved into professional studio headphones with the KLS 150, a closed-back design for studio and live monitoring, according to Gearnews.

The frame is reinforced with glass fibre and spring steel, keeping the headphones light while built for daily studio use. A dual-shell earcup design provides passive isolation to keep headphone bleed to a minimum. Leatherette earpads and a padded headband are meant for long sessions, and the foldable design with swivelling earcups makes the KLS 150 easier to store and carry. Custom 40 mm drivers deliver what the maker describes as a balanced profile with precise bass.

The standout feature is a set of bass controls hidden under the shell covers of both earcups. This passive acoustic adjustment shelf boosts or cuts the low end by 5 dB, so the sound can be set to an engineer's or a client's preference for tracking, music production or DJing.

The headphones ship with a drawstring carrying pouch, a 3.5 mm cable with a locking connector, a 6.35 mm adapter and a USB-C adapter for mobile devices. Gearnews lists prices of 179 euros, £154 and $168, as well as a $149 offer, through retailers Thomann and Sweetwater.
