Serato DJ 5.0 is officially out, with a new version for iPhone and iPad
Serato has officially released version 5.0 of its DJ software, Serato DJ, following a public beta that opened on 9 September 2026, according to Gearnews. The surprise of the launch is Serato DJ for iOS, a version for iPhone and iPad.
The headline feature is Lucid Beatgrids, a rebuilt analysis engine that automatically detects fluctuating BPMs, as in tracks played by live drummers, cutting down on manual beatgrid editing. Beatgrids come in two modes, the new Flexible and an improved Fixed, with enhanced editing controls and BPM labels on the waveform. Serato calls it its “most accurate and intuitive beatgrid technology to date”.
Open streaming lets DJs log into several streaming services at once and mix their tracks together with their own library. Each service appears as its own crate, a provider search dropdown switches between them, and BPM and key data for streaming tracks show before analysis. Cue Loops save loops as Hot Cues and start them automatically, in DJ Pro only, not in Lite.
The iOS version includes Lucid Beatgrids, stems, open streaming and Cue Loops, plus iOS Transfer, which moves tracks, crates and metadata from a laptop to an iPhone or iPad. It comes in free and paid versions, and DJ Suite subscribers or licence holders get it free. Thomann lists Serato DJ Pro at $233 (249€) and DJ Suite at $379 (405€). Version 4.0 had arrived almost a year before the 5.0 beta.
