Skrillex and ring noord remix Danny L Harle and PinkPantheress’ “Starlight”

Skrillex and Dutch duo ring noord have released a remix of “Starlight”, British producer Danny L Harle’s song with PinkPantheress, according to zene.hu. The new version is out on the major streaming services. ring noord is the project of Nik Roos (Sleepnet, formerly of Noisa) and Jasper Scholma (Former).

The original track comes from “Cerulean”, Danny L Harle’s debut album, released in February on XL Recordings. Where “Starlight” blended euphoric trance melodies with bittersweet feeling, the remix, already road-tested live, turns the song’s sweeping romance into a club anthem while keeping its emotional core, zene.hu writes. It follows Sasha’s remix of “Raft In The Sea”, another track from the album.

The release extends a working relationship between Harle and Skrillex that goes back more than a decade. Harle has produced and co-written on several Skrillex-related projects, and both have worked with artists such as Charli xcx, Caroline Polachek, Justin Bieber, Bladee and PinkPantheress.

On “Cerulean”, Harle paired heavy bass and trance synths with classical harmonies and his own field recordings of waves. Guests on the album include Dua Lipa, Caroline Polachek, Clairo, PinkPantheress, Oklou, MNEK, Julia Michaels and kacha.

Danny L Harle is a Grammy-nominated British electronic music producer and composer, born in London in 1989. In October mbuzz reported, citing Pitchfork, that the remix is notably bottom-heavy.
