Slash discussed “Flying Blind”, the fifth album by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, due on 26 February 2027, in an interview with Loudwire Nights on 22 October. According to the guitarist, most of the music grew out of spontaneous jams during pre-production at his studio with Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz.

The title track started from one of the first riffs he came up with in those sessions. Slash wrote the intro at home, the band worked up an instrumental version and sent it to Myles Kennedy, who wrote the lyrics quickly. The record also includes a couple of older songs that had never been finished, but most of it is new.

Slash also recalled meeting Kennedy while recording “Starlight” for his debut solo album. Years earlier, the singer was due to audition for Velvet Revolver but never showed up, later telling Slash he “just wasn't ready” to commit. The guitarist also talked about playing Back to the Beginning, the upcoming Aerosmith + Friends shows, the impact of Aerosmith's “Rocks” and covering “Brown Sugar” with Billy Gibbons and Tim Montana.

Born in 1965 in Hampstead, Slash is a British musician and the guitarist of Guns N' Roses, known for hard rock and blues rock. In October mbuzz reported that the band will take a break from touring in 2027 to work on new songs, and that Slash received the Les Paul Spirit Award on 5 October. Slash will play Rockstadt Fest in Ghimbav, Romania, with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators on 26 July 2027, according to infomusic.
