Taylor Swift scores UK chart double with “Patient Zero” and “The Life of a Showgirl”

Taylor Swift holds the top spot on both the UK Official Singles Chart and Official Albums Chart in the rankings published on October 2, 2026, according to Billboard. The double follows the September 25 release of The Encore, a deluxe edition of “The Life of a Showgirl”.

“Patient Zero” debuts at No. 1, giving Swift her third UK chart-topper of 2026 after “Opalite” and “I Knew It, I Knew You”, a track from Toy Story 5. Two other new songs, “Cleveland!” and “Babylon”, land at No. 3 and No. 4. The video for “Patient Zero” premiered at the 2026 MTV VMAs, where Swift also received the inaugural artist director prize.

On the albums chart, “The Life of a Showgirl” returns to No. 1 for a fifth non-consecutive week. Keo’s debut “Put a Smile on Me” is second, followed by Nothing But Thieves’ “Stray Dogs”. The album is Swift’s 14th UK No. 1 album.
