The Wombats have announced a UK and European tour for April 2027 to mark 20 years since their debut album “A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation”. According to NME, the run opens in Paris at Le Trianon on 1 April, then visits Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam and Antwerp, before four UK dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London and Liverpool. The final show is on 18 April at Liverpool Arts Club.
Each night the band will play the debut album from start to finish in the first half, then turn to other songs from across their catalogue. The Snuts, Cherryholt, Abbie McCarthy and Filip Clements are the support acts. Tickets go on sale on Friday 16 October at 9am BST, with pre-sales opening on Wednesday 14 October.
Drummer Dan Haggis said the album capped the band's first four years and took them from driving around the UK in his grandmother's car to touring the world. He added that more music is on the way.
The record came out in 2007 and includes “Let’s Dance to Joy Division”, “Kill the Director” and “Moving to New York”. NME reports it sold over 400,000 copies in the UK alone. The Wombats formed in Liverpool in 2003; their latest album, “Oh! The Ocean”, arrived in February 2025 and reached Number Four in the UK Official Albums Chart.
