Daft Punk get a Lego set based on their Alive tour pyramid stage
Daft Punk now have their own Lego set, recreating the pyramid stage from the duo's 2007 Alive Tour and featuring official minifigures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, according to Pitchfork. The idea dates back to the Covid lockdown, when a father and son from Luxembourg suggested the company rebuild the duo's stage.
Cédric Hervet, the band's longtime creative director, called the pyramid "one of the most recognisable expressions" of Daft Punk's visual world and said fans have always played an important part in the duo's story. With the set, the pair join the Beatles and the Spice Girls among musicians turned into Lego bricks.
Daft Punk, a French electronic duo formed in Paris in 1993, split in 2021. Their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “Random Access Memories” from 2013. Also in October, mbuzz reported that the duo had reportedly been offered a reunion to soundtrack Grand Theft Auto 6 before Rockstar Games turned to Justice, according to NME.
