Depeche Mode and KÁRYYN rework “Survive” for the Hunger Games soundtrack

Depeche Mode have shared a new version of “Survive”, titled “Survive (Arena Mix | KÁRYYN Rework)”, which will appear on “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album)”, out on 13 November 2026. The band announced the track on Instagram, saying it comes from the Memento Mori Sessions and that limited edition vinyl and CDs are available to preorder.

The rework is a collaboration with artist and producer KÁRYYN, who commented under the band's post that making the track with Depeche Mode had been incredible. According to We Rave You, it is track 19 of 29 on the soundtrack, released through MCA one week before the film reaches cinemas on 20 November. The album is executive produced by Dave Cobb. Kacey Musgraves and Stevie Nicks contribute Arena Mix versions of their songs, The Smashing Pumpkins deliver “Black Stars”, Noah Kahan offers “Draw You Out” and Jennifer Lawrence returns with “Deep in the Meadow”, while The Cure close the record with “Alone (Live in Berlin 2022)”.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film follows a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, on the day of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, the Second Quarter Quell. For the band, the release extends the Memento Mori era, following the live album and film “Memento Mori: Mexico City”.

Depeche Mode formed in Basildon, England, in 1980 and became one of the defining synth-pop bands. Their latest studio album, “Memento Mori”, came out in March 2023. In October, mbuzz reported that drummer Christian Eigner will premiere his project Orchestrified Pulse in Budapest on 26 November.
