Founding Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer will play with the band at their two Los Angeles shows on October 29 and November 1, according to Loudwire. The news came on October 20 through rehearsal photos the band posted on Instagram, showing all five classic members: Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Kramer, with a caption declaring “the bad boys from Boston are back.”
Guns N' Roses are the direct support at both shows. On select nights, The Black Crowes, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, and Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez will also perform. In October, mbuzz reported that the two concerts take place at the Hollywood Bowl, billed as “California, Dream On: Aerosmith + Friends.”
Kramer last played with the band on February 15, 2020, during the “Deuces Are Wild” residency in Las Vegas. According to Loudwire, he missed several shows in 2019 because of injuries and in early 2020 sued his bandmates, feeling they were not letting him back in. The band said at the time that, by his own admission, he had not been able to perform for six months. In 2022 the drummer announced a temporary leave to focus on family matters and missed the band's shows in 2022 and 2023.
Aerosmith formed in Boston in 1969 and are among the best-known American hard rock bands. Their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “Music From Another Dimension!” (2012), and their last concert in Romania took place on June 18, 2010, at Zone Arena in Bucharest.
