Kid Rock announces Christian album “Halfway to Jesus” with Eminem on “7 Sins”

Kid Rock announced his Christian music album “Halfway to Jesus” on Oct. 1, setting an Oct. 17 release and sharing the first single, “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King),” with a music video, according to Billboard and Consequence.

The album has 17 tracks. Eminem guests on “7 Sins,” while Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox and Jimmie Allen appear on the title track. Other songs include “Why Don't You Look Into Jesus,” “Water Into Wine” and “Me and Jesus.” The set closes with “God Bless the USA,” apparently a cover of the Lee Greenwood song.

According to Complex, which saw the album's foreword, Rock writes that he and Eminem differ politically but have stayed friends. In August he told Fox & Friends the project was inspired by James 1:17, tied to his middle name and his birthday.
