50 Cent says Eminem is preparing a new album

50 Cent has said Eminem is working on a new album, speaking to The Associated Press on 12 October at the Los Angeles premiere of “Street Fighter”. According to him, the Detroit rapper pulled out of work on the film’s soundtrack to focus on the record, saying Em is “preparing his presentation for the next album.”

50 Cent said Eminem had put a couple of pieces together for the film before stepping back as he got closer to his album. Billboard said it had contacted Eminem’s representatives for comment, and details of the project remain scarce.

In December, 50 Cent promised to bring Eminem onto the soundtrack, and in July he teased a posthumous collaboration featuring himself, Eminem and 2Pac, intended as the film’s theme. According to Billboard, that track could now be shelved or end up on Eminem’s new album.

Eminem, born in 1972 in St. Joseph, is an American rapper, record producer and actor. His last album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”, came out in July 2024 and topped the Billboard 200 with 281,000 album-equivalent units, according to Luminate. In October mbuzz reported that he released the single “Madara” with Ez Mil and that he appears on “7 Sins” from Kid Rock’s Christian album “Halfway to Jesus”.

50 Cent plays Balrog in the “Street Fighter” reboot, which opens in theaters on 16 October.
