LISA turns action heroine in the video for “Tarantino”

Blackpink member LISA has released the music video for “Tarantino,” taken from her EP “Press Play,” which came out on 23 October. The video was directed by James Mackel.

The story is set in a hotel, where LISA has to deliver a red letter to Tarantino. On her way she faces a string of opponents and takes them out with punches and kicks, still finding time for a dance routine with the hotel staff. According to laut.de, the clip is packed with fight scenes and nods to the films of director Quentin Tarantino.

The references carry over into the lyrics, which mention “Kill Bill” and “Death Proof.” Musically, the track combines pop and hip-hop with Thai-inspired guitar sounds. Each song on “Press Play” takes on a different cinematic mood, laut.de adds.

In October mbuzz reported that “Press Play” is LISA's first solo EP, a six-track release preceded by the pop-rap single “SaWaDiKa.” Born in 1997 in Buriram, Thailand, LISA is a rapper, singer, dancer, model and actress whose music spans K-pop, hip-hop and dance-pop. Her most recent studio album is “Alter Ego,” released on 28 February 2025, according to MusicBrainz.
